Additions and Whole-House Remodel

Multiple additions totaling 1,306 sf and relocation of an existing nonconforming garage combine to adapt a beloved historic home to the needs of a growing family. The additions include an entirely new Foyer and Guest Suite downstairs and Master Suite upstairs. The existing Kitchen is enlarged, remodeled, and a large interior service porch area is created. The character of the existing home is carefully preserved and enhanced by the design of new Architectural elements modeled after the existing.

This project received an Honor Award from the San Mateo County Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 2005. It was also featured in Sunset Magazine and on a segment of the local TV show ‘Eye on the Bay‘.
