Expansion of Historic Victorian Townhouse | San Francisco CA
The existing residence is one of three townhomes in an historic 135 year-old Victorian row-house. EASA Architecture is designing
a ground level expansion that includes a new Guest Room/Home Office, a Bathroom, a Laundry Area, and an expanded and improved rear patio. The project involves excavating and converting approximately 400 sf of previously unimproved utility area under the house into new living area. A new internal staircase links the new Ground Floor space with the existing two floors of living area above. Painstaking negotiations and coordination with the City of San Francisco Planning and Building Departments are in progress, and a Fall 2011 construction start is anticipated.
